When I got to the farm this morning it was cooler than it has been in a while. The cooler weather does not affect the animals but I think it does make them feel more comfortable. I noticed while I was cleaning and feeding that because it was so windy today the chickens and quails were huddling together to stay warm. Also there are a few new baby chicks whose moms were making sure that they stayed underneath them so they could get the warmth from their bodies. After I did my work for the day I walked around the farm to make sure all the animals would be ready for the cooler evening. I had to cover a few of the chickens to make sure that they would be safe from the high winds. As I was getting ready to leave I noticed that the quails in the large cage had all gotten together in one large basket to use one another for their body heat there must have been at least fifteen quails in one basket it was quite a sight. Well I will be back tomorrow morning all bundled up because the weather is supposed to be cold so check back soon to see how all the animals and the City Boy on the Farm are doing.
