Every morning that I visit the Dancing Goat Farm I clean and feed the chickens and quails as well as gather their eggs. I always start to gather the eggs in the front of the farm where there are five large cages which house about 100 chickens. On the outside of these cages there are large egg boxes which can hold up to five or six chickens at a time. As I go from cage to cage I always open the door to the egg boxes very slowly so I do not scare the chickens. Once I open the door I am always greeted by loud disapproving chatter from the hens in the egg box. Most morning there will be a few chickens sharing the egg box but this morning I was surprised to find in one of the boxes five chickens all crammed into one corner. The five hens were almost on top of one another all trying to sit on the few eggs that were in the box at the same time. They were acting like five old ladies complaining to one another about who's turn it was to sit on the eggs it was quite a scene. After I gathered the eggs from underneath them they all started jumping out of the egg box so they could go eat their breakfast. Well it has been another wonderful weelend and I look forward to the new week so check back soon with the City Boy on the Farm for more stories and pictures.
